Hello, my name is Brandi Echler I am a single mom of 2 daughters 9 and 11. I am not one to ask for help but I am swallowing my pride. April 28,2012 the doctors found a mass bigger than a softball on my pancreas. Thank the lord it was benign however I still need to have surgery to have this removed. June 1st I went in for a 12 hour surgery, thankfully it wasn't as bad as they thought and only lasted 6 hours. I spent 12 days at The University of Toledo Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio. Because the recovery was so long I lost my job. July 22, 2012 I was let go from my job. A week after being released from the hospital I was put back in I had developed MRSA a form of staph. He had made a small incision to drain the infection out. After several small incisions over the month of July he decided he needed to do another surgery. So August 9, 2012 he took me back into surgery this time he made about a 2 inch incision and put a wound vac on me. We thought that this finally solved the problem. The doctor released me back to work October 1st finally. After searching for a job had a couple interviews more bad news my incision had opened on its own. This lead to another surgery November 7, 2012. This time he discovered I was allergic to the stitches he has used in the inside of me. I had an open wound that was about 5 inches long and 5 inches deep between my mom, brother and myself we changed this dressing 2-3 times a day. Once again things started to progress nicely I was released back to work and on December 28th, 2012 I started my new job. I finally started to get back on my feet started to get some bills caught up not all but some and was feeling great. However in February I started having issues again. I saw the doctor he decided I needed yet another surgery. So i have recently just had my 4th surgery in 9 months. My whole incision was cut back open i have about a foot long incision on my abdomen. He had to go in and remove a bunch of tissue from right under my skin to my pancreas that has deteriorated. I was informed that this is going to be at least a 6 week recovery, meaning I will be off work again. I'm unsure if they will even keep me hired seeing how I just started. Since I have only been there 2 months I do not qualify for any short term disability and will have very little income coming in.Any help will be greatly appreciated it. Thank you very much!
