Greetings!

This past December, Izaiah was nominated to attend the Congressional Youth Leadership Council's National Youth Leaders State Conference, and we are now raising funds to send him to the four-day conference in Greensboro this April.
The National Young Leaders State Conference (NYLSC) challenges each scholar to step forward with conviction and confidence, to grasp the concepts of leadership and to act upon his/her dreams of making a difference in their community. With the insight and guidance of highly trained facilitators and the assistance of their peers, scholars work within each activity to hone their plan of personal leadership.

The core leadership power tools are communication, conflict resolution, decision making, goal setting, group dynamics, leadership techniques, project management, self awareness and appreciating diversity.

NYLSC scholars strengthen the skills they need to succeed in school and gain new perspective on how they view their role as leaders in their communities, leaving the conference well-equipped to begin their journey.

We need to raise $1200.00 in total, to secure his seat at the conference -- $600 by the end of February and $600 more by the end of March. For those of you who know Izaiah, who we fondly call "The Sparkler," you know that his gift is love, light, and charisma. He is one who has never met a stranger and extends his help to all people. He is a forever friend, brother, son, musician, athlete, heart-forward warrior. He's also an incredible student. This conference is an important next step and incredible opportunity for him to build with like-minds and hone more skills to add to his repertoire. In the spirit of JFK, who said, "Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other," we ask for your support. Let's support his climb toward greatness! Anything you may offer is greatly appreciated, and we are more than happy to volunteer our time as a family to support any of your causes.

Blessings!

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” - Steve Jobs
