Anne has spent her career helping others when they are sick or in trouble, and now she needs help. She was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer over a year ago. She chose to continue working so she could continue to help "her girls" there as well as to provide a stable home for her twin boys (she's a single mom). But now the cancer has spread and she is unable to work, but the disability benefits she paid into won't kick in for 5 months, at which time they will probably be too late to be of help. Thus Anne is without income for providing for her household or paying her medical bills. If she has been a blessing to you, would you consider being a blessing to her and her boys now? I originally called this cause "Cootie Awareness Month," but I've revised that to avoid confusion. If you know Anne, you know that she sees the bright side of everything. Cancer not only didn't take away her vivacious personality, it made her even more loving and courageous--and always ready to see the humorous and candid side of things. Since she has three brothers (I'm an older brother), she joked that she always got stuck with the cooties as a child and so that is likely the cause of her illness today. Her faith in God and her love of the people around her, which has shone even brighter under this stressful situation, is an example to us all. Money donated will go directly to a Care Fund at PNC Bank set up for Anne's care. You can also see Anne's web site at AnneKane.org.
