Over 1,500 Americans are still missing across Southeast Asia. We know where some may rest, but we can’t reach them empty-handed.
Our veteran volunteers are ready to search jungles, rivers, and crash sites to find these heroes. But even the strongest veterans need the right tools to complete the mission safely and effectively.
They need first aid kits if things go wrong. Protective gear for the rugged terrain. Field radios to stay connected in remote areas. Durable backpacks to carry water, supplies, and recovery tools.
This gear isn’t a luxury — it’s what turns determination into action.
Potential Gear for Field Recovery Missions:
-
Water Filtration Systems
For clean water during extended field missions. -
Headlamps / Tactical Flashlights
Essential for low-light searches and early morning deployments.. -
Satellite Communicators
Enable emergency contact in areas with no cell service. -
Rain Gear / Ponchos
To keep veterans dry in unpredictable monsoon climates. -
Protective Hats / Boonie Caps
For sun and rain protection in the field. -
Insect Repellent & Mosquito Nets
Critical for health and rest during overnight missions. -
Gloves (Cut-Resistant / Work Gloves)
To protect hands during searches in rough terrain. -
Notebooks & Waterproof Pens
For field notes, site sketches, and documentation. - Portable Power Banks
To keep radios, drones, and devices charged in remote areas. - Binoculars
For scanning dense terrain and ridgelines from a distance -
Tarps & Ground Covers
To protect potential remains and artifacts during site preservation. -
Mission Flags (POW/MIA & US Flags)
For dignified site marking and ceremonies when remains are found. -
Field Ration Packs / MREs
To sustain energy during long days in the field. -
First Aid Trauma Kits
Beyond basic first aid, these include supplies for more serious injuries. -
Steel Water Bottles
Durable hydration tools for field conditions.
Brothers in the Wind: Bringing Them Home from Southeast Asia
They were young when they went — helicopter pilots, crewmen,
medics, infantrymen. They served with courage across the jungles and
mountains of Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia.
And for many, there was no grave, no goodbye. Only a missing report, a folded flag, and families left to wonder.
More than 1,500 American servicemembers remain missing in Southeast Asia. Their families have waited for decades, holding onto hope that one day, they will come home.
Every day, potential sites degrade under jungle growth. Witnesses age. Leads disappear forever.
We have a narrow window this season to reach key sites in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. If we miss it, these heroes may never be found.
In many Native traditions, a person does not truly die until their name is spoken for the last time.
At Tours of Duty, we believe it is our mission to ensure that day never comes.
The Mission:
We are veterans who once fought in these lands, returning not with weapons, but with purpose. We go back to search, to recover, and to honor our brothers in the wind.
Using drones, LiDAR, and advanced forensic recovery skills, we walk the ridgelines, riverbanks, and rice paddies where they were last seen. We follow fragile leads before they are lost forever, ensuring these heroes are found, named, and honored.
Why This Mission Matters:
✅ For Families: To replace decades of silence with
answers.
✅ For the Missing: To honor their
service by bringing them home.
✅ For Veterans:
To continue serving, finding those who cannot return
themselves.
✅ For America: To keep our nation’s
sacred promise: No one left behind.
How You Can Help:

teams who investigate, recover, and document remains with
care and respect.

Logistics, equipment, and training to keep these
missions safe and effective.
Your Impact:
🍂 $25 feeds a recovery team member for a day in the
field.
🚁 $100 funds drone flights over search
grids.
⚙️ $500 equips veterans with
mission-critical recovery tools.
🌏 $1,000
covers in-country travel to high-priority sites.
🏞️
$5,000 funds two full days of mission
operations.
🎖️ $10,000 sponsors a comprehensive
search and recovery mission.
These veterans began their service on the battlefield. Now, they return to the field, not to fight — but to find.
This mission is about more than recovery. It is about keeping faith with those who served and the families who have waited for far too long.
Our goal is to raise $55,000 by October 15th to deploy our veteran-led recovery teams during the upcoming weather window when terrain is accessible.
Every dollar fuels drones, field teams, and recovery missions that can’t wait.
Help us bring them home — now.
