Ovarian cancer is the most lethal gynecologic cancer and a leading cause of cancer-related death in women. Due to the lack of an early detection test, a majority of patients are diagnosed at a late stage. For these reasons, increased awareness and advocacy are critical.

The Michigan Ovarian Cancer Alliance (MIOCA) is c ommitted to promoting the early detection of ovarian cancer and improved treatment outcomes. We work collaboratively toward this goal by funding innovative research ($750k in grants to date!) and working to increase statewide awareness so everyone can know the signs, symptoms and risk factors of ovarian cancer.

And at the very heart of what we do, we support individuals and families that are directly impacted by ovarian cancer. From providing support totes containing gifts and resources to those in treatment to hosting survivor and family support groups, we work to make sure no one has to face cancer alone.
