I am a proud graduate of Aloha High School (class of 2001!), and am now in my first-year teaching at my alma mater (after 12 years of teaching elsewhere).

My Instrumental Music Studio is an awesome, project-based class that appeals to many who don't choose our traditional music offerings, but are still interested in the fundamentals of music. Class is off to a great start, but we are still far from having an instrument for each student.  This means that students have to share and aren't able maximize engagement in hands-on learning. This is particularly true for bass guitar; I have an average of 30 students in each class, but only 19 bass guitars.

Your support can make it possible for almost every student to access an instrument in class during our bass unit.  Many of these bass guitars are also short-scale, meaning they are better suited for students with smaller hands.  I have come to learn that some of my younger/smaller students found it frustrating learning on a full-sized bass.  So, these instruments will provide a more engaging and positive experience for all of my students.

I hope that you will consider donating any amount of money to help outfit my classroom with 10 additional bass guitars, so that I can better help my diverse body of students achieve their musical goals!
