PE and active play are critical to a healthy lifestyle and complete education. Play helps kids focus and teaches coordination and balance, along with teamwork and interpersonal skills. Consistent activity also creates life-long healthy habits, contributes to the recommended daily hour of activity for children and is proven to boost academic achievement.

After so many sedentary months of the pandemic, the PE + Play Impact Fund is a multifaceted approach to getting our students back on track with exercise and healthy habits. First up is providing PE equipment to several Beaverton schools so students will have access to the tools they need to meet their physical learning goals. Additional programs will be announced in the coming months to reach more students across more Beaverton schools.

The PE + Play Impact Fund supports staff at all Beaverton’s public schools as they explore, develop and implement creative ways to engage students with high quality solutions for PE + Play that inspire and prepare students for their brightest future.
