The first round of fundraising for the Barn renovation at Oakland City Stables has begun. Diamond Equine Services, the new concessionaires at the stables, are ready to hit the ground running

The Oakland City Stables (originally San Antonio Ranch) is a 7.2 acre equestrian property in the Oakland Hills owned by the City of Oakland. It has been closed for nearly 12 years and needs renovation. After three years of negotiation, Diamond Equine Services has secured a contract as Concessionaire. The Metropolitan Equestrian Preservation Society ( a local nonprofit org) is sponsoring the first round of fund raising to help with renovating the barn.Because considerable renovation is needed for all of the buildings on the property, Deqs will be working in stages to bring it back to its glory and renew the Equestrian Legacy of the facility. We intend to create an entirely sustainable/ Green facility . We will provide horse boarding, training , lessons , outreach programs for Oakland youth, veterans, therapeutic riding and mentoring.
