Just recently, my Boxer mix, Scrappy, was lying on her bed when she tried getting up. I noticed she was shaking and couldn't get up. Then I realized she wasn't really trying to get up -- she was having a seizure.

That was a few weeks ago and it didn't happen again. Until yesterday, when she had five seizures. Each one lasted a few minutes, but each took a lot out of her. After each seizure, her right hind leg is temporarily paralyzed and she cannot get up. We also noticed that she seems a little out of it after each seizure. A formerly very active and friendly dog is now not interested in playing outside, because she is so pooped from seizures. I will be taking her to the vet later in the week, but all initial research indicates a much larger problem, namely epilepsy, brain tumor, distemper or heartworms. The last two seem very unlikely and I'm hoping the first is the case as this can be managed with meds. I pray it's not the second. Regardless of which of the above it might be, we know that it won't be cheap.
