Danny Gallo hasn't added a story.
1 week before I was to take homeless 1-yr old Cagney back to family in CT, she was run over by a truck in a south Texas oilfield RV Park resulting in a "diaphragmatic hernia" pushing all lower-body organs into her chest cavity & rupturing her diaphragm. We need to raise funds for her immediate surgery to avoid a sudden, premature death.
UPDATE Nov 10th: Before I was able to launch this campaign Cagney's lung collapsed and she was rushed to the vet & is in critical condition needing emergency surgery to save her life.

When I launched a food service business in southern Texas in Jan 2014, I never thought it'd lead to rescuing 3 of the homeless street dogs who roam the RV Parks.
First we rescued Moxie, a black Lab mix, brought back home to CT in late June.
Then on Oct. 17th, 10 days before I was set to drive Cagney & Lacey back north, Cagney was run over by a pick-up truck. I found her bleeding from her legs and abdomen & rushed her to the local vet.
They stitched her legs and installed 2 drains in her punctured abdomen. They said her cracked pelvis should heal and she'd be able to walk on her rear hind leg within 2 - 3 weeks. And she broke off 5 teeth, likely from biting the tire as the truck ran over her torso, & they'd need to be pulled after she recovered. I nursed her for 7 days & brought her back to get the drains stitched up, get all of her shots, and to get her & Lacey spayed.
In spite of her condition, she showed such gratitude and affection and just never complained! And it seamed like all of her bodily functions were working, in spite of her rear torso now being disproportionately skinny. I had no idea she was in danger.
We arrived in Connecticut on Oct. 30 and I delivered Cagney & Lacey to my sister-in-law & brother-in-law, Gail & Tom, who tragically lost their 3-year old rescue Husky-American Eskimo buddy, Dexter, to a respitory disease at the end of May.
After observing her for a few days, Tom took Cagney to their vet for a check-up and got some devastating news:
1. The truck tire herniated all of her internal organs & shoved them up into her diaphragm, including her stomach, liver & kidneys, crowding her lungs & heart. She'd need major corrective surgery or she will not survive.
2. Her cracked pelvis didn't heal properly & after she heals from the diaphragmatic hernia surgery, they'll need to do a second surgery to re-break the bone and set it.
3. They'll pull her broken teeth at the same time.
The surgery and the after-care will total in excess of $7,500 including the cost to run the Fundrazr campaign, but we don't have the funds available to cover these expenses and desperately need your help.
If we're fortunate enough to raise more than this amount we'd like to use the additional funds to start a spay & rescue fund for the 100's of dogs in the oil fields of Southern Texas.
