Thank you for taking the time to stop by our site. Mike Strycharz, Barb Youchah, and Ryan Zacharczyk are teaming up to run the Long Branch Half Marathon to raise money! Please read Susan's story below and help us Kick Cancer Overboard!

Susan is 51 years old from West Long Branch, NJ.  Although no doubt most of you reading this have been touched by cancer in some way, Susan can't seem to escape its clutches.

In her early 20's, she was diagnosed with cancer and the prognosis was not good.  In fact, each passing doctor's visit offered worse and worse news.  She was instructed to get her affairs in order and prepare for a much too early exit from this life.  Fortunately, a successful "Hail Mary" surgery gave her another chance and she took advantage of it, adjusting her priorities to what was important.

Susan was diagnosed again in 2010 with ovarian cancer.  The disease keeps her in and out of hospitals enduring treatment after treatment.  Radiation, surgery, and a non-stop diet of pills is no way to live a fulfilling life.  Then, just when she thought things could not get any worse, Susan's mother was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 77.  Susan, despite her own health challenges, is the primary caregiver for her sick elderly mother and blind father.

Mike, Barb, and I think Susan and her mother deserve a break and would like to raise $3,333 to send them on a cruise with Kick Cancer Overboard.  It is a small token of compassion we can offer to two fellow human beings who have had far too many challenges.  We need your help to give this gift!
