Nationally Georgia ranked first in the number of statewide homelessness in the US Housing and Urban Development 2012 Annual Homeless Assessment Report. More than 10,000 people experience homelessness on any given night in our state. More than 40% of these individuals are women and children. The homeless have a four to nine percent higher mortality rate than the general population. It is also estimated that 1/3 of Americans are one paycheck away from homelessness and 2/3 are living from paycheck to paycheck. It is economically imperative that we address this issue today.

Homelessness effects everyone

Grace Christian Outreach was established to assist in current efforts within the metropolitan Atlanta area to bring extinction to the cresive plague of homelessness in our city. Unfortunately outside of the City of Atlanta there are very few alternatives for the homeless other than sleeping on streets or beneath bridges. Our goal is to bring communities and churches together as one body to attack the enemy in releasing this bondage through providing rescue, rehabilitation and restoration services in a Christian environment.

"The 3 R’s of Grace"

Rescue: Provide refuge for a Homeless Society in providing long term shelter

The responsive action of restoring life to a condition that is individually acceptable for self preservation.

Rehabilitate: Strengthen the mind through the principles of competence and self esteem

Living Consciously, Self-Acceptance, Self-Responsibility

Self-Assertiveness, Living Purposefully,

Personal Integrity

Restoration: To revive or establish a sustaining faith for a productive interaction back into society.

Establish a sense of stability through consistent shelter, job training and employment assistance.

"CHARGE FOR CHANGE"

Jesus said that love is the greatest commandment! Helping another is the greatest gift of love!

There is much work to be done and one individual nor entity cannot provide effective services to deliver the multitude of residents that have now fallen hostage to homelessness. We also recognize that our government can’t solve this problem as it is a community issue. Thus this matter of homelessness must be approached from the standpoint of the parable that Jesus presented to his disciples as referenced in Luke 10: 29-37 in helping one another as a people. Today 76% of Americans express their faith as being Christians. In Georgia alone we have a population of nearly ten million with 82% professing Christianity. Therefore we must ask the question: Where are our works? We are the “Salt of the Earth” let’s stand up and make a difference! For what is Salt if it has no flavor. (Matt 5:13).

Please help us change these live's who despite their circumstances still have hope for change in redemption of a properous future.

The goal of "Charge for Change" is to purchase a 226 room, recently closed hotel in metro Atlanta. This facility will become a home for the currently homeless that are seeking change. Your donations will be utilized for the purchase and rehabilitation of this facility where you can be a part of providing a blessing of stability, learning and transformation of lives for a lifetime.

"We who are strong have an obligation to bear with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves" (Romans 15:1)
