"The people of Missionvale have huge need and are deserving of our support, I have seen it"  - Fr. Donagh O'Meara's comments on the plight of thousands whom he encounters first hand, year after year, in his continual efforts to support the work of Sr. Ethel Normoyle in Missionvale.  The Missionvale Care Centre operates in the extremely poor informal shackland township of Missionvale in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. It was founded by Sister Ethel Normoyle, from humble beginnings, under a tree donated by a resident of Missionvale. It has grown into a Centre which provides love and care for the poor and destitute, with particular emphasis on those living with HIV/AIDS.

From 18th – 29th January 2014 – Joe O’Brien and Steve Tonna will join Fr. Donagh and a group of volunteers travelling to the township in Missionvale.   The main project will be to construct a weatherproof queuing area, to provide shelter for the poor and sick people as they wait in line for food parcels, all year round.

Joe and Steve will lend there skills this year to this very worthy cause.  With your help, we hope to be able to get the lads out there – and together we can make a difference in the lives of those, who have been forgotten by many.  Any donation, no matter how small, is greatly appreciated.
