Cathy Ponds hasn't added a story.
I would like to introduce you to my cousin Nicholas. He is a child
who loves music, has a big heart and a contagious laugh. He has
battled a cancerous tumor since age 11. Recently, the tumor stopped
responding to the chemo therapy treatments and now he must go through
radiation treatments over a course of two month at the Children’s
Hospital. After a recovery period, Nicholas is scheduled to receive
additional inpatient radiation treatments at the UCLA Medical Center
in Los Angeles, California. This treatment will radiate from the
inside out. This means an incision will be made in his abdomen where
cylinders will be inserted into his tumor and radiation given through
the cylinders. Due to the size and location of the tumor mesh will
have to be placed over his organs and pulled close to his abdomen wall
to prevent damage of other organs. This will be a very difficult
treatment and Nick will lose a lot of nutrients because his abdomen
will be open for the entire week during this treatment. On behalf of
my family, I am asking for support, prayer(s) and contributions in
reaching a goal of $3,000.00 their resources are exhausted. This will
help my family with living and relocating expenses so that they may
live close to the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles
A week ago,
I came to visit my family at the Ronald McDonald House to lend a hand
where Nicholas and his mom, Cathy, have been living for over a year
since Nicholas was flown in from Las Vegas, Nevada to California.
While here, at the Ronald McDonald House, I have heard some amazing
and wonderful stories of my cousin’s dedication to Nick and his
medical care. I have learned, though she is going through difficult
times herself, she is always supporting, encouraging and praying for
other families. I was told how she makes a point to introduce herself
to each family because she awakes every morning at 4 a.m. to pray for
everyone. She encourages and invites families to visit or call when
they are in need of inspiration or prayer. So I decided to tell her
story to others in hope that her kindness will inspire other to pay it
forward.
Due to Nicholas medical problems, she was terminated
from her job, lost her apartment and her car, and lives off a very
limited income to survive. She was told that she would have to move to
California to get the medical treatment Nicholas requires. I’m asking
for your help to raise funds because their resources are all exhausted
and they are in immediate need for any contributions, large or small!
Anyone who donates will receive a “N God’s time” or “TAKE A NICK OUT
OF cancer” appreciation wristband. When requesting a wristband, email:
cljaiteh@yahoo.com
Please help to continue to take a “NICK OUT OF
cancer” by helping Nicholas and Cathy financially so they can move
their belongings from Las Vegas, NV, to repair a used car, and find a
place close to the Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles, California. I
ask your prayers that N GOD’S X his will be done!!! Please read
