Robert D. Kiefert hasn't added a story.
I am a USMC Gulf War Combat Veteran. I was not in a combat unit, I was with an aircraft maintenance unit, "a support unit" I did not see combat. My PTSD is not combat related, but it is military service related, although the VA does not recognize that, my civilian doctors do, and my military records support that. I WAS enlisted during Operation Desert Storm, (2 August 1990 – 28 February 1991), supporting and maintaining combat aircraft. I was enlisted from October 1987 through January 1992, in the United States Marine Corps. I was abandoned by my adoptive father when I was a pre-teen, and grew up in a "group home/ children's home" in Muncie, (Delaware county) Indiana. I have had severe mental health issues all my life, and severe physical medical issues for over half my life. some of my physical diagnoses are: Osteoarthritis Hypertension High Cholesterol Carpal Tunnel syndrome-both wrists Insomnia Scoliosis Pinched spinal nerves Herniated spinal disks Spinal disk/joint degeneration Scoliosis minor spinal bifida Peripheral neuropathy Severe TMJ degeneration/pain Sciatica Seizure disorder Grand-Mal Partial-Onset Migraines Gout Fibromialgia some of my mental health diagnoses are: PTSD Bi-polar Disorder Chronic Depression Personality Disorder Axis II Adjustment Disorder Axis I Social Anxiety Disorder Chronic Anxiety Disorder I am on SSDI disability because of these.
The dog has been donated by APCC ( https://www.facebook.com/pages/APCC-Guard-dogs-kennelstrailer-and-more/394027900653101 ) and they will train the dog also. they have reduced their training costs to 2500 so that funding will be easier to get. The dog is of high quality german stock and is a german shepherd. I have named him Armin. I currently have a service dog, but Nakoya is a senior and getting too old to provide the services I need. This funding will provide LIFETIME training. I have contacted many non-profits who are unable to help at this time, and I am running out of time quickly. My spinal injury gets worse with each passing day.
