Our son, Rayne, is three years old with moderate to severe classic autism. We are raising money to get him a service animal which will be trained in tracking, tethering, behavior disruption and deep pressure therapy. The cost to acquire and train such a dog is 10,000.00. We plan to use a local training facility and have decided on a Newfoundland as they are known for their intelligence, patience, strength, rescue and tracking abilities.

We also know that service animals often help autistic children sleep. Rayne rarely sleeps well and at times does not sleep at all! At this time Rayne is nonverbal. Service dogs given to children before age six are known to help increase vocabulary and increase the child's ability to socialize. We need this dog for safety but also to help Rayne develop these critical life skills.

Please help us reach our goal. We need $3,000 before we will choose a pup and the trainer requires another $3,500 up front and the final $3,500 before training ends. We will be posting updates to Rayne's facebook page, Rayne: Owning Autism, as we are able to proceed so join our journey! Thank you for helping Rayne overcome his obstacles and helping our family live a more normal life.

Thanks Laure Love Photography for allowing us to use the photo of Rayne.
