Please help us save Smiley (pointy ears) and WooWoo (not pictured), two dogs confiscated from an abusive owner who have been at the Klamath Falls Shelter since the beginning of the year and are in danger.
We are working to save a dog named Smiley (pointy ears) and hopefully an additional dog from the Klamath Falls Animal Shelter. Smiley was confiscated from his owner on January 4, 2013. He and some other dogs were found emaciated and living on chains. The person responsible for this also had other dogs that were “house dogs” and well cared for. While Smiley was hungry and on a chain, he had to also watch other dogs living a normal life, free to run on the property around him. As if that is not already too heartbreaking to handle, shelter workers have seen signals from Smiley that indicate he was also abused. When he first came to the shelter if someone approached his kennel, he would immediately roll onto his back and urinate. He has gotten better and now only cowers occasionally and his submissive urination is a rare occurrence. We will be getting Smiley from the shelter and if we raise enough funds, we can take another dog as well. A generous person is donating Smiley's neuter, but we will still need to get him an exam, shots, microchip, heartworm test and preventative, flea preventative, and supplies. If we take an additional dog, they will need all of those things too. Please help us save lives!
