In the beginning of January the soft glow of an idea appeared. Soon that idea turned into a small flame. The idea: "The Monster and the Moon." A story based upon a children's book about a timid monster who falls in love with the moon. The story is funny, sweet, and ultimately heartwarming. This is how the idea started out.
At the beginning of February sixteen year old Parker Allred, beloved cousin and friend of director Spencer Allred, fell ill with the flu. Within a few days he had developed Pneumonia, a staff infection and eventually fell into cardiac arrest. One week after developing the flu, he was gone, leaving behind a family who loved him.
Since the few short weeks since this shocking event, "The Monster and Moon" has become so much more than originally anticipated: it has become a story of love and loss. A story of hope and despair, but ultimately the hope we can all find again.
We need your help to make this short film a reality. Films are not free and the filmmakers are spending all their evenings (after their regular full-time jobs) and weekends making this important story a reality.
We promise to use only use 1/4 of all your donations to help make this film become a reality. The other 75% will go strait to Parker Allred's family.
We promise to use all our time, talents, and skills to make this dream of "The Monster and the Moon" a reality. Please help us achieve our goal of $2,000. As a thank you, all personal who donate $20 or above will receive a printed piece of original concept art and the sincere thank you's of the filmmakers. If you cannot donate $20, we welcome however much you can spare.
Thank you all for your donations in advance and we look forward to this project.
