Decker and his mom Marisha have been soulmates since they first laid eyes upon one another. He has always taken his job of protecting her with his life very seriously, and her every decision has carefully taken Decker into account. On January 29th, 2012, strangers visiting their Danby, NY home while mom was away spooked this gentle spirit, and attempts to block him from the open door only made matters worse. Decker bolted. For weeks and weeks Decker's friends and family scoured the woods where there were repeated sightings, followed every far-fetched lead, and never stopped having hope. Work, sleep, eating, social lives - all became secondary to finding Decker. Facing health issues such as pneumonia, we had to come out of the woods when the reports stopped coming in, sometime in mid-March. We still have great faith that Decker is alive and well, and suspect that Decker has been taken in by a kindly stranger unaware of his plight and the devastation left in the wake of his disappearance. Craig's List ads, lost pet sites, social media, and constant SPCA checks have failed to bring any new leads. Knowing that many of the homes in the area of his disappearance are unserviced by internet, we are now planning the next wave in the campaign to bring Decker home, and this is why you are reading this post. We plan to send out 2,483 direct mail postcards to every address within a reasonable radius of his disapperance. This first wave will cost $300 in printing and production, plus $360 in postage. We will not be able to raise these funds in a timely manner, and now humbly ask for your assistance. Once we have raised the first $275, we will order postcards. Mailings can then be completed in chunks of 400-800 postcards at a time, by route, as funds allow. If we collect more than the initial funds required, the excess will go toward either a second wave of mailings or veterinary care, depending upon his status at that time. Will you please help bring Decker and his family back together?
