Welcome to our Inaugural Juneteenth Baytown Virtual Run/Walk!
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. - Rho Omicron Omega Chapter is hosting it's annual virtual walk for to commemorate the celebration of Juneteenth and raise money for the Rho Omicron Omega Fund in support of the Educational Advancement Foundation (EAF).
Join Team Rho Omicron Omega May 18th- June 19th as we walk 250,000 steps to acknowledge the 250,000 slaves that were not yet freed in Texas.
When you participate in the Juneteenth Baytown Virtual Walk, your fundraising dollars fuel our mission, and your participation in the event helps to sponsor Baytown community students and make their dreams of attending a college/university a reality!
What:
This is a virtual walk. You choose to complete as many
steps as you can walk. You complete your walk on your own. Here's how
you earn a FREE T-Shirt and other great prizes!:
- Raise at least $150 or more
- Top Walker/Runner (Most Steps)**
- Top Fundraiser
**Must Be Paid and Fully Registered to by June 1st to qualify; steps will not be counted until registration is fulfilled**
When:
Walk any time between May 19th -June 19th. We really
hope you walk virtually with us, especially on June 21st in
person!
*Shirts will begin shipping out by end of May 2025. After
that they will ship within 2 to 5 days of signing up and
raising $150 or more.
Where: You choose the course. Simply download the Pacer App to join our challenge and track your steps.
Why: To help fund local scholarships for deserving
young people who desire to attain a college education.
COST: $15 for each individual. All proceeds will
be donated directly to Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. - Rho
Omicron Omega Chapter's Rho Omicron Omega Fund for the Educational
Advancement Foundation (EAF). EAF is a 501(c)3 certified
organization. Donations are tax deductible.
WHAT IS A VIRTUAL WALK? A virtual walk is a walk that can be walked from any location you choose. You can run, jog, or walk on the road, on the trail, on the treadmill, at the gym or on the track (or even at another race). You get to walk on your own, at your own pace, and time it yourself. Walk on your own, or with friends! And your items will be shipped directly to you.
