Please support students at Elmonica Elementary School to become designers and creators of their own ideas with 3D printers. As a technology instructor, I strive to teach STEM and establish Maker Space for students. Bringing 3D printers can change how students learn STEM topics and subjects. Students integrate several disciplines including science, math and design to understand concepts. This also requires creativity, collaboration and problem-solving. A 3D printer is a top tool for these lessons for maximum student engagement.
The funds raised will allow us to purchase two 3D printers and some PLA filament to start with. These printers will support our 400+ K-5 students in both technology class and Maker Space. They’ll explore Tinkercad lessons and practice their geometry skills, calculate measurements, weights and balance. All Elmonica classes will have access to these printers to make their 3D designs a reality.

Founded in 1988, the Beaverton Education Foundation raises money to provide hands-on innovative academic enrichment and advancement programs & projects that go beyond normal school funding at all Beaverton public schools and is a 501(c)(3) community-based nonprofit organization. BEF mobilizes community resources to fund innovative classroom projects, summer and after-school programs.
In the event that this project does not reach its goal or exceeds its goal, BEF may apply the funds received to another similar project.
