On Saturday 26th April, Dave Edmunds' new bicycle was stolen. I'm starting a whip-round of all Dave's chums to get him back on the road and help him in the same way he has helped so many!

On Saturday 26th April, Dave Edmunds' new bicycle was stolen. I'm starting a whip-round of all Dave's chums to get him back on the road and help him in the same way he has helped so many!

Over the years, Dave has raised thousands of pounds by running and cycling for good causes, most recently completing the Hastings half-marathon for the Penny Beale Memorial Trust and the London to Brighton cycle run (on his new bike!) in aid of the Terrence Higgins Trust. Despite his bike being locked securely in the town centre thieves have now stolen his pride and joy - and one of his chief fundraising tools!

Dave's smart black Trek cycle (with added shopping basket!) cost him £380. I'm hoping that by all of us chipping in a little we can get Dave back pedalling soon. Every penny raised will go first towards buying Dave a new bike, and any money raised over the total will be split equally between Dave's two favourite causes - the Penny Beale Memorial Fund and the Terrence Higgins Trust.

All you need to do is click on the link below and your funds will be transferred automatically, and securely, via this pretty whizzy charity giving application. The funds will be held in a special paypal account and then transferred once we've reached the target. And everyone who chips in will not only know they've helped a great friend overcome a horrid episode, but be acknowledged in the giving list if they so wish.

No need to contribute if you don't want to - but I just thought that, together, we could make a real difference to the life of someone who makes all of our lives a rather better place to live.

ttfn, and many thanks! x Al
