Jessica Facer hasn't added a story.
Noah Purdy, a sweet little boy, wrote a letter to Santa. His only request was for Santa to visit the children in his Kindergarten class back "home". His request is so selfless; it’s remarkable to think that a boy his age would only want for others.
Health:
Noah is battling cancer. His family has moved into the Ronald McDonald home in Palo Alto, CA where they had been anxiously awaiting the day his doctors would decide that his tumor had shrunk to an operable size. After many rounds of Chemo, his surgery was December 5th. While they removed a large tumor, the battle against cancer continues.
He is expected to have a stem-cell transplant procedure at the end of January. He will be in isolation at the hospital for as long as 3 months. Then, he will continue with chemo and start radiation. The start of this New Year may have its challenges; however, Noah will continue to persevere and kick cancer out of his young life.
Home:
Noah's place of care over the past year is far from the home where he used to have a garden and chickens. The harsh reality is that Noah's parents were asked to leave the place that the family knew as their home because they no longer have jobs (i.e. income). With medcal costs, travel costs and being with their young sons as their priority, they had to say goodbye to Morro Bay. Noah misses his chickens very much.
Blessings:
Noah and his family are gracious and humble. I am fundraising on their behalf to raise enough money to establish a place to call home. I think $5000 would be an excellent down payment on a home. Even a fraction of that would be an amazing blessing for this family!
The family is awaiting the blessings of 2014 and hopes to put the struggles of 2013 far behind them. Let’s pull together and make Noah and his family's future more comfortable.
Optimism:
Always optimistic, his parents never count the sacrifices. They ask only for positive thoughts.
I am Noah's aunt who lives across the continent in MD. I am a mom, a wife, and I work as a waitress. I am also a Girl Scout leader. I motivate my scouts into action for all sorts of good causes. Bake sales have their limitations, so for this cause I have taken the fundraising to FundRazr.com on behalf of Noah and his family. I too am optimistic that we can reach this goal and give Noah's family a 2014 worth remembering!!
