LeeAnn Hopkins was diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension and Pulmonary Veno Occlusive Disease in May of 2012.

PVOD is the closing of the veins in the lungs. Life expectancy is 3-5 years from diagnosis. The ONLY way to have a longer life is Lung Transplant.

All PAH medications have been attempted and nothing was helpful. Lung Transplant testing was started in December of 2012 at WASU in St. Louis, MO. and it was determined that she was not a candidate at that time.

The disease is progressing a year later and she is now considered high risk. The UPMC in PA takes higher risk patients. So as of right now she is  on Lasix and Potassium and Oxygen to sleep.

She is very limited in anything she can do, for example a shower is very difficult for her. The stairs into her home are VERY difficult and walks of any distance becoming impossible.
Thank you for your help and prayers.
