In January of 2014, I am travelling to Laos for three weeks with a group of Griffith University nursing students to volunteer my skills and experience in the Seuang River region.

During this placement, the team and I will be travelling between local villages and working on community healthcare projects in central local health districts and community clinics along the Seuang river valley. Some of our duties will include:
- providing basic healthcare and check-ups
- outreach nursing
- supporting rural community clinics
- paediatric and maternity nursing care and education
- sexual health education
- hygiene promotion and education

Most of the population within this region in Laos are unable to gain access to, or do not have enough money to visit clinics or hospitals to obtain much needed healthcare - so they need our help!

Antipodeans Abroad has been managing placements to Laos for four years now with great success!

This placement will cost $5525 not including vaccinations or visas– so your help will be much appreciated! The money will go towards things like medicines for the clinics, equipment and medical supplies, transport, meals, international flights and taxes, basic home-stay accommodation in a local village, community project research and set up and university supervision.

If you have any questions about my trip feel free to contact me via email zani_lee@hotmail.com

Thank you everyone for your support and help.
Zani :)
