In October 2011, I witnessed a community band together after an unthinkable tragedy occurred. Over the past year I was able to witness a Nation come together as well. My family was forced to become part of a “club” that required an ultimate price to be paid. Upon the anniversary of My Uncle’s death, an Origami Owl necklace was presented to my grandmother in honor of his sacrifice. It is one of the prettiest mementos have seen and I immediately was drawn to become a part of the company. While joining this company I have been trying to figure out just how it would fit in with my life and I have arrived at two goals I would like to achieve.

In 2012, Georgia lost Eight Police Officers in the line of duty. Each April there is a Georgia Police Officer Memorial Bike Ride in Atlanta, GA and then May the National Police Memorial Service is held in Washington D.C. My goals are to provide a necklace to each family that has lost a loved one at no cost to them. I will start with the eight in Georgia and then the rest of the nation. To reach my goal I need the community to help.
