On February 26th, 2013 a home in Fairless Hills, PA was destroyed by a fire. That home belonged to my grandmother, Sally Cann. Fortunately, there were no injuries caused by the unfortunate accident. Sally was set to move into that house just two days later, on the 28th, the last day of February. This would be the first time in her 70 years of age, that she would own her own home. She had spent the last 50 years renting either apartments or homes. The last 6+ months had been spent adding an addition, as well as performing other general renovations on the home. An estimated $65,000 investment that will now likely be lost as a result of the house only having "temporary insurance" on it, as nobody was to be living their for two more days. My Grandmother now will spend the next few weeks or months living in a hotel room, as the lease on her current apartment expired at the end of February.
Needless to say, she is devastated. The Fire Marshall told us informally that the fire seems to have started from the outside, and that his first guess would be a cigarette butt. Such a horrible way to dash the dreams of a 70 year old woman to one day own her own home.
I am setting up this fundraiser in an effort to raise some money for her to simply get herself a place to live again. She should be close to retiring, but instead will spend the next years working off this horrible incident.
The smallest amount would change her life, and that is all I ask for.

Thank You.
