On 10/5/2012 my mother had open heart surgery at a hospital in Houston, TX. Exactly a week later, due to events that remain a bit unclear at this point, she had a cardiac arrest which led to a coma. For the first couple of weeks, her medical team was focused almost exclusively on stabilizing her vital organs while adopting a “wait and see” stance with regard to her neurological health, that is, whether or not she “recovers” from her state and if she does recover, how functional will she be.

Until nature takes its course, we would like to raise funds for her continued care at a nursing home or home care whenever she is discharged. Please help us give her the dignity she deserves in whatever amount time she spends with us.
