Sanchez has been boarding with us for nearly 2 months while his owners looked for new living arrangements. Last week Sanchez, fell extremely ill with a mystery illness. We spent several sleepless nights in and out of the ER, stumping the vets and watching his bills grow. Due to his owners recent family and economic hardships, they came to the hard realization that they were not equipped to keep Sanchez. My husband and i have officially taken on his medical care and finding him a new loving home. As of today, his multiple vet, ER, and specialist visits total about $3000 and he will still need follow ups and continued medication. He has finally been diagnosed with a congenital defect in one of the valves of his heart, a problem which often never shows symptoms and therefore never diagnosed. The specialist suspects some sort of infection has caused these severe complications and he is now being treated with antibiotics and will forever be on multiple heart medications to improve it's functioning. Sanchez has shown much improvement and comes home with us today after spending 2 days in the hospital on IVs. He isn't out of the woods yet, but we are encouraged with his progress and will continue to stand by him as long as he does. Paw's, Justin and I just couldn't sit by and watch this truly amazing dog that we have come to love suffer. Now we reach out to you for any help you may have to offer in paying for his care and finding him a forever home!
