In February of 2011 our family of 5 took in 3 new children who were being removed from their home. At the time we believed this would be a temporary foster care situation and we made room for them as best we could. We took them in to keep the family together as much as possible instead of having them separated into many different foster homes. We fell in love with these wonderful children and when it became clear that their mom and dad were not capable of fulfilling the state's mandates, we agreed to adopt. We are very excited about the adoption, but our home is not large enough to continue this cramped living situation. So, we started renovating our barn to add 4 new bedrooms and a bath. Like with many ideas, it sounded good at the time. You know, do all the work yourself and save some money, ask for volunteers when you can get them...that sort of thing. Of course now, we are out of money, out of volunteers, out of materials, and months behind schedule. The plan was to have them in their new rooms before winter. So far we have most of the framing and that's all. We need your help! If this is ever going to get done, we will need to hire professionals to complete the job. We need sheetrock, an electrician, and insulation, along with a myriad of minor details and lots of paint. Any amount you can donate would be greatly appreciated.
