On June 21st Charles Gray turned 80 years old and watched in disbelief as his Route 7 business in Pownal, VT was ravaged by flames and destroyed. He opened his business in 1960 as the Ethan Allen Gift Shop and in the 80’s began making Moccasins and renamed the landmark business Mahican Moccasin. On this June afternoon, after 52 years as a family business, Mr. Gray watched a lifetime of work and service to travelers from all parts of the world go up in flames. A piece of southern Vermont business history is gone… The building and contents loss far exceeds insurance coverage. You may do so thru: MAHICAN MOCCASIN FIRE RELIEF FUND At any TD Bank location By mail to: TD Bank 37 Spring Street Williamstown, MA 01267 Even a small donation goes a long way to a family whose lives have been spent dedicated to this community & the people who live here.
