About the 2019 JLH Volunteer-A-Thon:
The Volunteer-A-Thon is a mission-based fundraiser where Junior League of Hartford (JLH) members volunteer with a variety of local nonprofit organizations for 26.2 continuous hours. The Volunteer-a-thon showcases the JLH's mission of promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving communities through effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Your contribution will support our current partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of Hartford helping young girls in the Greater Hartford community build skills for eating right, staying physically fit, getting good health care and developing positive relationships.Starting at 9 am Friday, November 15th through Saturday, November 16th, we will be volunteering with the following organizations:

The Junior League of Hartford - Making an Impact
Our current focus in the community is "Empowering Women and Girls to Overcome Obstacles".
This year, the Junior League of Hartford launched our new project with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford for the SMART Girls initiative. The SMART Girls program was developed to offer age-specific experiences that enhance girls’ physical and emotional health. It is a small-group program that utilizes a combination of informational and experiential learning activities to help female BGCH members develop the knowledge and skills necessary to practice healthy lifestyle choices. The program offers a unique opportunity for area young women to learn from and network with JLH members.
From 2015-2019 we partnered with Junior Achievement of Southwest New England for the Career Connections for Young Women to offer a unique opportunity for young women to learn from and network with JLH members. The program is designed for high school aged women in the Hartford area; its purpose is to provide young women with a clearer understanding of their potential and a powerful vision of what they can become.
