Thanks for checking out my Aprons for Gloves page! I'm Ben, I'm born and raised in Vancouver, and I'm representing The Storm Crow Alehouse but I also work at Mahony and Sons Burrard Landing and The Salvation Army Harbour Light. I'm privileged to work with great people and their support was key in getting me to participate in this year's Aprons for Gloves campaign.
When you support me, you're donating to Aprons for Gloves; a non-profit that introduces youth to boxing, teaches them self-worth, discipline, and respect, and provides them the tools and support necessary to succeed when life has dealt them a bad hand. Eastside Boxing Club runs this program 3 x times a week with over 60 kids currently enrolled. Every single penny I raise during campaign (regardless of whether or not I fight) will go to keeping the program available well into the future.
My goal is to raise over $2000 for this cause. In doing so, I'll be given the opportunity to fight at the Restaurant Rumble on July 27th at the Commodore Ballroom. You can donate through my fundrazr page here and you can visit me in person at the Storm Crow Alehouse on Sunday and Monday evenings, Mahony & Sons Burrard Landing on Friday Days, or if you ever see me behind the front desk at the Salvation Army Harbour Light. Any reason to donate is a good one! Whether it's to assist at-risk youth or because you like knowing I'll be getting the whoopin' of a lifetime. I'm getting beat up for a good cause! With your help, we can give some kids an experience that will help them grow and triumph.

Founded in 2012, Aprons for Gloves Boxing Association is a non-profit organization focused on providing community outreach through the sport of boxing. Based in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, the organization was developed by a small group of professionals and entrepreneurs who seized an opportunity to re-establish a historic boxing program for at-risk women and youth. The program offers free mentorship and training to individuals who may otherwise not have the resources or support to participate in such activities. The sport of boxing teaches discipline, respect, hard work and self-control. Training results in positive self-esteem, good health and camaraderie for its practitioners.
Restaurant Rumble 2016
Every year bartenders, chefs, dishwaters, servers, baristas and all sorts of individuals from the Gastown community get together to train at the Eastside Boxing Club to fight in Restaurant Rumble.
In order to attend training, each fighter is required to raise $2000 for charity before they can compete at the Rumble.
