In December 2013, my dad became legally blind due to glaucoma. The important part is that this was unprecedented; he wasn't even diagnosed until it was too late. He was subsequently fired from his job, and since then, has racked up tens of thousands of dollars in hospital bills. Unfortunately, these hospital trips and surgeries have not been helpful; he has almost completely lost his sight now and cannot move around or do anything without help. It is important to note that my father is, first and foremost, a missionary and a pastor. While he did hold a job for a short while in order to support our family, we've never had a stable financial record.

Why doesn't my mom work then? My mother also is currently recovering from her own health problems, specifically cancer. She is still in recovery from her treatment from a couple years ago.
I personally have a relapsing skin disease as well, that drains us financially.

The state of Texas does not believe that a family of four, consisting of two parents unable to work, a college student, and a high school student, needs more than a little over a $1000 a month to sustain itself. We've been blessed and lucky to not be out on the streets at this point.

I have personally been lucky to continue to attend the college of my choosing, but am now in need of help. My university does not believe that the physical, mental, and financial health of my family and I is justification enough to give me full coverage, even for a semester. I am currently about $1,500 short of paying my tuition. Long story short, although we had initially planned on paying my tuition ourselves, we are unable to do so anymore. I need to at least raise this money, by the end of this week, in order to still be enrolled in my school.

If nothing else, please help me stay in school. While we'd greatly appreciate any money of any sort, even getting the word around is helpful. This is honestly our last resort, and we reach out in hopes of being able to at least get back on our feet.
