In Febuary 2015, I will be taking part in a medical brigade, visiting
rural Honduras to provide free medical care with a team of medical
professionals. Although I am not usually a supporter of short term aid
work, I have seen first hand the positive effects of this organisation
during my recent trip to Honduras in October, and I know how important
this work can be and how many people it can help.
We are able to reach up to 1,500 patients in 10 days and
provide important health care that some people are not able to
usually access. We are able to assess patients, provide
treatments, and prescribe the neccesary medications, all of which is
not readily available due to lack of government suppotr and shortage
of adequate facilities. Teaching prevention and
healthier lifestyles are a key part of making a sustainable
difference, which will also be a part of our brigade.
Donations will help to pay for medical supplies that will
allow for us to provide the neccesary care to these individuals, as
well as help implement water filters in villages which will help
provide families with clean water supplies. Every little
helps, so please donate today. Visit www.honduranchildren.com
for more information.
