My dream is to circumnavigate the globe. With Clipper Round the World Race I have the opportunity to do this. The catch? Other than the fact that I have never sailed before? the £50,000 that it will cost me.

I am a Part time MA Shakespeare student working two jobs to fund Leg 8 of the race so far and have the burning desire to go all the way and spend 11 months at sea seeing the world.

This is where you come in, you kind, generous people you :D

I am looking for just £1 from £50,000 people (well from £40,000 people now) to help me acheive this dream.

Started by Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, himself a circumnavigator, in 1996, Clipper Round the World aimed to make the sport that he loved accessible to  more people.

The race has flourished over its nearly twenty year existence, covering over 3 million nautical miles, and training well over 3,000 amateur sailors to cross oceans, 206 countries follow the world’s only amateur matched fleet ocean race. Clipper has a 2 billion cumulative media audience, over 2.5 million visitors to the events website, which includes an exceedingly addictive Race Viewer, which updates the boats positions every hour, and skipper and crew diaries sent back throughout the race.

The ports for the 15-16 race are still being finalised but the race countries stand as:

LEG 1: UK – EUROPE – SOUTH AMERICA.

LEG 2: SOUTH AMERICA – SOUTH AFRICA.

LEG 3: SOUTH AFRICA – WESTERN AUSTRALIA.

LEG 4: WESTERN AUSTRALIA – EASTERN AUSTRALIA.

LEG 5: EASTERN AUSTRALIA – ASIA – CHINA.

LEG 6: CHINA – WEST COAST, USA.

LEG 7: WEST COAST, USA – PANAMA – EAST COAST, USA.

LEG 8: EAST COAST, USA – IRELAND – EUROPE – UK.

I am currnently signed up for the final leg, as I couldn't imagine getting off of the boat and watching it leave without me! So the plan is to fundraise my way back to the beginning.

Any kind donation would be very greatly received, it doesn't have to only be £1 *stage wink*. I have noticed that there is a comment option, please leave address or email so I can contact you :)

Thank you for your time. Have a great day :D
