Hi folks. The Eastside Boxing Club needs your help. It closed last Nov. due to a fire. Most of the kids they help never had the same opportunities, support or role-models folks like you or I did growing up. I want to help and need your support.

Hi folks. The Eastside Boxing Club needs your help. It closed last Nov. due to a fire. Most of the kids they help never had the same opportunities, support or role-models folks like you or I did growing up.

I was fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to participate in organized sports growing up, and to have positive role models in the coaches. In the past I've also worked with "at risk" youth and have seen the tremendous impact that involvement in organized sports and a little support can have in their lives.

I want to help the team at Eastside Boxing Club make a difference in the community and in the lives of the kids they work with so I signed up to be a contender in Aprons for Gloves.

That being said, I need your help to reach my goal of raising a minimum of $2,000.

Please help me achieve this, and while I'm asking you to help me, it's all going towards helping provide these kids with opportunity.

Thanks for your time, and please be generous :)

Pete

Founded in 2012, Aprons for Gloves Boxing Association is a non-profit organization focused on providing community outreach through the sport of boxing. Based in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, the organization was developed by a small group of professionals and entrepreneurs who seized an opportunity to re-establish a historic boxing program for at-risk women and youth. The program offers free mentorship and training to individuals who may otherwise not have the resources or support to participate in such activities. The sport of boxing teaches discipline, respect, hard work and self-control. Training results in positive self-esteem, good health and camaraderie for its practitioners.
