In April 2013, my dad went to the doctor for lower back pain only to find out he had esophageal cancer.  In November 2013, 60 pounds later, after intense chemo he had the surgery to remove the cancer and do the necesscary grafts.  Though the surgery was a success, the recovery has not and now, 40 pounds after that, we have found out that not only is the cancer back but he has a cancerous tumor on his spine which causes him constant pain.  There have been hospital stays for the past month and he is literally a frail set of skin and bones which my mom is not equipped to care for.  This last week an infection in his lungs was discovered causing excess fluid to collect.

This is where I need help.  I am an only child currently living 5 hours away and it is apparent I need to take time off from the 2 jobs I maintain to help them.  I can't afford to take off from these jobs AND afford their medical expenses and those needed to travel back and forth, much less potentially relocate my family down the street from him to enhance his care.  I need to get them moved in to a better house where he can be the most comfortable.  He needs me and the lifetime of skills he trained me in to make repairs and maintain what he has worked so hard for.  I need him because I don't know how much time is left.
