My son was diagnosed with MS over a year ago. He is 39, has a wife, baby and step-daughter. He is no longer able to work due to the progression of MS. He now has significant cognitive impairment and will never be able to go bak to work. His wife has lost several jobs because she has to be off work so much taking him to Dr's visits. He cannot care for his son while she works so this has put a huge financial burden on all of us. She makes $10 an hour on her new job that she has had now for about 6 weeks. My son can no longer drive because his license was taken away from him during a traffic stop because he was having a flare up and was weaving. The police officer thought he was drunk and called his Doctor to verify that he is an MS patient. They took his license and he will probably never be allowed to drive again. I have been paying most of their bills for over a year now and it has taken it's toll on me financially and mentally. He applied for disability social security 16 months ago and has been denied 3 times. We are currently awaiting an appeal decision. I will be 60 next month and am stressed because of the debt I have incurred helping my son and his family survive. I have written letters to all MS foundations, Montel Williams, Oprah, Ellen, Willie Nelson, numerous church organizations, Red Cross, United Way, and many more but have received help from only one MS foundation in FL and that was they paid a $500 electric bill to keep it from being disconnected. They said it is a one time only help. I am so frustrated and I don't know where to turn. I am trying to learn how to write an e-book to try to raise money but it will be a few more months before I can publish the first chapter. I am trying to publish chapter's for .99 cents in hope to raise money. Any donation would be appreciated and no amount is too small. Please help me recover from this dark time in our lives. The progression of my son is much more rapid than the doctors first thought. He has many lesions on his brain and spine. He sits and cry's because he knows he will never be able to teach his son how to pitch a ball, or fish, or hunt. He is losing his reasoning ability, will go blind, deaf and mute, He already has problems with incontinence, he is losing his hair and so far none of the medications the doctors have tried have slowed down the progression. His wife is not dealing with this and I don't think she will be there for him much longer. She is already threatening to leave and take his son. Please help. Any thing will be greatly appreciated. I will post a picture of only my sons hand holding his son when he was born. He did not know that day that his life would change forever. In a few years he will not know his son.
