I adopted Ruby a year ago and she is the light of my life along with my two other rescued Boston Terriers. Ruby has a painful fistula on her bottom that has recurred and needed immediate surgery to prevent her from losing bowel control. She has had 3 trips to the animal ER because of hemorrhage, has taken several courses of antibiotics, been in pain, and the fistula has become an ulcer that now involves an anal sac. At the time of this writing, Ruby is in surgery right now to have the sac removed and the fistula tract closed. I am disabled and have just enough income to cover the basics for my dogs and myself; I don't own a house, cannot work, and recently had surgery 7/8/13 to fuse some bones in my neck with plates and screws, so things are really tight right now. My husband is living and working out of state to keep the bills paid- we were just not prepared for this expense. My vet is EXTREMELY reasonable and can be contacted at Pass Road Veterinary Hospital, 2709 Pass Rd, Biloxi, MS 39531. 228-385-1008 and the account is under Jennifer Jeffrey. Dr. Spears performed her surgery. If Ruby's bill is less than the amount raised, I will use y'all's input to put the overage to the best use- perhaps pay it forward to HSSM or another dog in need. I appreciate any help we can get with this. Ruby has 2 Boston brothers who are 15 and 17, a chihuahua brother, 14 and a kitty named Tiger who really want Ruby to feel better too. Ruby has come such a long way from the terrified, sick baby she was to the happy, healthy and goofy Boston girl she is now. Thank y'all so much, even if all you have are prayers we appreciate you so much!
