The skateboarding community of barbados needs your help to raise money to build a skateboard park on the island. I am looking for help with raising $10,000 for concrete and construction supplies. The labour will all be done skateboarders. Any Donations are greatly appreciated.

The skateboard community in Barbados currently is about 80 people at the very most, for a population of 280,000. This is a small number, especially for a place with such a heavy influence (Kelly Slater named it one of his favourite places to surf in the world). The main reason for the lack of a skateboarding community is because of the lack of a park. Cops kick kids out of the streets and the only place to skateboard is an old foundation in the woods, with rough , weather ground and wooden ramps that have to be replaced every few months.

If a concrete park was constructed, the maintenance would be minimal, and the skateboarding community of Barbados would have a spot to call their own, and hopefully the community would grow from this and possibly even encourage bigger named companies to come to the island & help raise tourism.

The park will be constructed in cooperation with the locals input, and nothing will be done without making sure it is a good obstacle to have in that location. The main goal is to sustain the small community that is currently in Barbados, and hopefully see it grow.
