06/06/2013 7:00pm: UPDATE I was contacted by Diana from 4 Paws 1 Heart and a woman who will remain namelss at this time has stepped up to cover the cost of Petey's surgery provided I get him to OVRS first thing in the morning. Petey is currently stable, eating and drinking. He is having a difficult time walking but true to Petey form he is still kissing and tail wagging. I will pick up Petey at 6am and drive him to OVRS for his surgery. I will take pictures and post updates here when I get them. We have decided to continue to raise funds for the next 14 days for Petey's aftercare and continued care to try and avoid situations such as this in the future. Mike was again in tears when I told him how much we had raised and how many wonderful people stepped up to the plate to help him and Petey. I am in awe of the magnitude of generosity from all of you. whether it was simply crossposting or donating. We couldn't have done this without each one of you and you have all played a vital role in the outcome today. I send my love to all of you individually and I feel like the luckiest person on earth to know and have such wonderful people in my life and surrounding me. If you would like to contribute to Petey's after care (he will need check ups) please know that every penny donated, myself, Mike and Petey appreciate more than words could ever say. With a warm cozy feeling I sign off and wish you all a wonderful weekend. <3!!!

I was awoken today by a hysterical call from Mike Tucker. Mike is the man living in a vacant home in Detroit with two dogs that he loves and cares for. Last night his dog was shot by a passerby I'm taking the dog into MHS tomorrow morning and we need donations for the surgery. Mike is on disability and has little to no income. We have no idea how much it will cost but are asking for the community's help once again. Please consider making a donation. No donation is too big or too small. This poor baby is laying at home right now with a bullet in his shoulder. The photo is the back of me, meeting Petey for the first time when we dropped off dog food, dog coats, warm winter clothes for Mike and bottled water. I've been in contact with Mike ever since. Mike is a prideful man. As a young man he was married with children and worked for Ford Motor Company as a Master Woodsman, as he calls it. He used to carve the new models out of wood!!! during his career the drug "crack" was new and introduced to him as a way to stay awake on the job while working the midnight shift. Needless to say the very addictive drug cost him his job, wife, home, children and now grandchildren. Mike has been clean and sober for over 15 years. he has two dogs. Petey Bonz Jr.(he had his father before him) and Sampson, a Golden mix. They are his life, his family, his companions and best friends. Please consider a small donation to this cause. Petey is a good boy and only 3 years old. Mike has spent the rest of his life on the streets paying for his mistakes. Everyone needs help once in a while.
On top of all of this, he is home to many displaced cats in the neighborhood. Petey loves to spend his free time curling up with anywhere from 1-5 of these cats at any given time.
