Zhoie is nine, but that won't slow her down! But herniated discs will. She was injured while playing and needed surgery as a result. She's doing well now, but her family can't keep up with the vet bill.
I'd like to introduce you to the adorable little Zhoie! This nine year old beauty got injured while playing and ended up needing surgery to repair herniated discs in her back. This is her story:

Zhoie had been normal prior to the weekend of August 25th, when her housemate hit her while the two were playing. She became progressively painful, so she was taken to the vet on August 30th. Spinal radiographs showed an intervertebral disc rupture. Acupuncture was performed, but afterward Zhoie was having difficulty walking. By Friday, August 31st she had developed noticeable disorientation and by September 2nd she was dragging her limbs and seemed weak. She was seen by a specialty vet on September 3rd, where thoracic radiographs and general blood screen were within normal limits. An MRI was performed the next morning and revealed a disc extrusion with spinal cord compression. Zhoie was taken to surgery and has steadily improved since surgery. Corgi Mom Teresa has continued to restrict her activity, but overall feels Zhoie has been doing great and that she is able to walk on her own. She no longer appears painful and has been eating, drinking, and eliminating normally.

Let's start spreading the word so we can help Teresa pay the overwhelming bill associated with helping her sweet baby girl! She didn't give up on Zhoie, so we can't give up on her. Are ya with me, Pals??
