"Since and despite his death, Team Finn has walked, ran and biked all over the world. Now it is time for Finn to run the Vancouver Marathon. In force and with smiles. We would love your help as we run to Change the Story."

The man who wrote that inspires me. He inspires me to do more because he does and because his journey started with pain. I have been involved with the Ride to Conquer Cancer for five years now; before that I walked in the Weekend to End Breast Cancer; and this year I will do a lot more of what Finn loved by jumping and bouncing in the first Bust a Move fundraiser for breast cancer research. I have had the fortune of meeting many people along the way who have stories to tell of their own miraculous journeys with cancer and I've also come to know those people whose lives have been touched by losing someone close to them. People I am proud to say are now my friends have lost their children. I can't stand by and let that continue to happen. I hate the pain that sits within the hearts of my friends and wish nothing more than to be able to take it away. I can't do that. What I can do is hope that I can make a difference to a family in the future so that they will never have to feel the pain of losing a child to cancer.

And so, in 2013, I run alongside my FINNspiration, Patrick, while Finn runs and jumps and bounces in our hearts along the way.

Please consider donating to my efforts to raise money for pediatric cancer research in BC; help us change the story!
