Born in Bridgewater Nova Scotia, Rachael McIntosh is one of the busiest ladies around. The energetic 22 year old is a full time athlete, University student, and works a part time job to take up the many hours in a day. That is why she has come to love the seven-event discipline of the Heptathlon in track and field. Never a dull moment.

The heptathlon is an event that takes a great amount of patience, coaching, and endless hours of hard work to master, but also produces some of the most athletic women on our planet. Over two days, Rachael competes in the 100m Hurdles, High Jump, Shot Put, 200m sprint, Long Jump, Javelin and 800m run.

Having relocated twice to end up in what she believes is the best training environment for her, Rachael has become a developmental carded athlete, a member of the 2016 Olympic Development program, current indoor CIS champion in the Pentathlon, 2012 Canada West Female Field Athlete of the year and represented Canada on an international stage on eight separate occasions.

Rachael’s new home of Calgary Alberta covers the outdoor track with snow more than half the year, meaning she must travel several times each winter to warmer parts of the world with weather she can train in. Though she does receive a development card and works a part time job, the expenses of these trips and her many other competitions can never be completely covered. This is where initiatives like FundRazr play a key role in helping athletes like snowed in Rachael get everywhere she needs to go with ease.

Rachael is very appreciative of any support, and no contribution will go unnoticed in this campaign!! The Givebacks in Rachael’s project will all be home made as she is a Fine Arts major at the University of Calgary. An assortment of drawings, paintings, etchings and litho prints will be turned into postcards or framed for the different levels of funding provided. Don’t Miss out on these one of a kind gifts from the busy multi talented artist/athlete as you help send her off on her many journeys across the world!!

Help her spread the word by sharing with friends, family, coworkers and anyone you meet to ensure that she gets all the help she can!
