Shawna Hendricks Richardson hasn't added a story.
So you can imagine how difficult it was for Timm
to sell his beloved guitars several holiday seasons ago to pay for family photos and Christmas presents for his children.
Because as much as he loves music, Timm loves one thing even more: His family.
Timm is 34 years old, a devoted husband of 16 years to Michelle, and a father to his five children, ages 6, 9, 11, 13 and 15. In honor of Michelle’s desire to stay home with their children, Timm has long worked 50-plus hour weeks, even while going to school. Still, he’s been able to maintain a 3.9 GPA at Salt Lake City Community College where, until recently, he was on track to graduate with a degree in Aviation Mechanics.
In September, Timm was diagnosed with Giosblastoma Multiforme Stage 4 terminal cancer, the most aggressive type of malignant primary brain tumor. He has survived brain surgery, where doctors were able to remove 90% of the tumor, and is now undergoing radiation and chemotherapy treatments. His initial prognosis was quite grim... 3 months if nothing was done... up to 15 months if treatments were "successful". I honestly do not know what the latest prognosis is... at this time, he and his family have released only the information they have to and have asked that timelines not be speculated. Who can't respect that?
At the time of Timm’s diagnosis, he did not have health insurance. Given his daily treatments and doctors’ orders, he is unable to work or continue his college education. Medical bills continue to accumulate, even as daily household expenses must be met.
Tim has a long road ahead of him, yet he refuses to give up. Miraculously, he has maintained his sense of humor and continues to be thankful for his family and friends. He’s the one the rest of us go to when we are feeling down about his situation – not the other way around. He still knows how to reassure those who love him, saying: “I don’t have much, but hope is the one thing I have that I can share with others. Hope is contagious.”
Please join this incredible cause to help secure the future of Timm’s legacy - his family. More than anything else, Timm wants to know that his illness has not precluded their future well-being and success.
