I am a Kindergarten teacher and work with 25 students with varying abilities. They excel when given an opportunity with hands-on learning. That is why I would like to get them magnetic letters, cookie trays and white board paddles to help my students learn the basic phonics of reading.

Giving students manipulatives and multiple avenues to learn, explore and try new skills help with committing the skill to memory.

Being able to listen to themselves read, move the sounds that go into words, and see how phonics are the building blocks to everything will help give them confidence.

My students love to learn and work hard. My students love to listen to stories and ask to read but struggle with word recognition. Due to this struggle, they have low confidence and feel defeated. By having these new materials, I will be able to help build their confidence and give them the ability to work on their own while practicing these skills. I want to expand what we have to work with to help them become amazing, confident readers.
