Start your morning on a healthy foot by gathering with your friends to walk the bike/walking path along the beach in downtown Long Beach. Enjoy the views, friendships, fundraising, and raffle all for a great cause and even better organization.

The Health & Wellness programs at Boys & Girls Clubs of Long Beach focus on the skills needed to have a healthy life while learning financial literacy and substance abuse prevention techniques, along with gender-specific programs that ease the transition from childhood to adolescence and help young people make good decisions for themselves.

Girls: Female Club members need a safe setting in which they can address health and social issues unique to them and build the necessary skills to resist negative influences such as drugs, alcohol and premature sexual activity. To help girls develop and adopt a healthy attitude and lifestyle, as well as acquire and maintain a positive self-concept, sound decision-making skills, and mentor relationships. | Passport to
Manhood: Teaches and promotes responsibility, reinforces positive behavior, and develops character in adolescent males. The passage from boyhood to manhood is challenging, requiring adolescent males to understand and manage many issues and transitions. Passport to Manhood addresses critical issues that young men face during this time, such as ethics, decision making, wellness, fatherhood, employment and careers, cooperation and conflict, diversity, relationships, and self-esteem. | Brent's Club: The program goal is to conquer alcohol and drug dependence by turning the fear, grief, and helplessness caused from this disease into awareness, compassion, and support while promoting awareness for the dangers of experimenting with alcohol and drugs. |
