Get Smashed started with a simple idea: make really great burgers and create a place people actually want to hang out. Not a chain restaurant. Not another cookie-cutter fast food spot. Just a local place built by people who care about good food, good company, and treating every customer like they're walking into a friend's house. Every late night, every early morning, and every obstacle has been worth it because we know exactly what we're building.

We're incredibly close to opening our doors, and that's where you come in. Your support helps us finish the space, purchase the final equipment, and turn months of hard work into the restaurant we've been dreaming about. Our Story

Hi, I'm Ryan MacCammon.

If you know me, you know I can probably talk your ear off about food. I love trying new restaurants, finding incredible ingredients, and figuring out what makes a meal have that WOW factor. I've always been the kind of person who can't leave well enough alone. If I think something can be better, I want to figure out how to make it better. Looking back, that's really how Get Smashed began. A few years ago, that curiosity turned into an obsession with making the perfect meal. It started the way a lot of great ideas do, with friends getting together, cooking, and seeing if we could make something better than what we were finding around town. Every weekend we'd try something different. Different cuts of beef. Different techniques. Different seasonings. Every cookout was another chance to learn something and get a little closer.

Eventually, that search led me to Deer Hill Wagyu in Cazenovia. After placing my first order, the owner tossed in some ground Wagyu and said, "The first taste is free. I know you'll be back." He was right.

That ground beef sent me right back to the Blackstone. We tried burgers, meatloaf, lasagna, and just about everything else, but we kept coming back to smash burgers. The simpler we kept them, the more the quality of the beef stood out. I paired it with a seasoning blend I'd developed while learning how to smoke brisket, and it finally felt like everything came together. As more people tried the burgers, it became clear this wasn't just something we enjoyed making. People kept asking where they could get another one, and I started wondering what it would look like to share them with more than just family and friends.

On June 7, 2024, Get Smashed opened as a ghost kitchen.

Since then, every pop-up, every ghost kitchen,  has been another chance to meet new people, hear their feedback, and watch this little idea continue to grow. What started around a Blackstone has become something much bigger than I ever expected.

Now we're in the final stretch. Our first brick-and-mortar restaurant is nearly complete, and we're asking the community that's supported us from the beginning to help us get across the finish line. Get Smashed is built on one simple belief: great burgers start with great beef.

We use premium Wagyu beef, quality ingredients, and keep our menu intentionally simple. Instead of relying on over-the-top toppings, we focus on creating burgers that let the quality of the ingredients shine. Whenever possible, we source locally because supporting our community is just as important as serving it.

Our goal is simple: make people take one bite and say, "Wow!"

But, Get Smashed isn't just about making a great burger. It's about creating a place people are excited to visit.

We're building another locally owned restaurant where friends meet after work, families grab dinner, and visitors discover something uniquely ours. Every burger we serve supports a small business that's committed to investing back into our community. We believe great restaurants become gathering places. How You Can Support Get Smashed

Our restaurant is approximately 90% complete, and we're in the final stretch.
Funds raised through this campaign will help cover:
• Kitchen equipment
• ANSUL (fire suppression) system updates & certification
• Hood cleaning & certification
• Plumbing our appliances to our gas service
• Final permitting and inspections
If we exceed our goal by $10k, we will be buying a soft serve ice cream machine to bring next level dessert options that we've been developing for years. Seriously, these desserts are going to blow your mind. And if you guys really go crazy with another $10k beyond that, we've got plans to have seating and an awning on the James Street Sidewalk (with a permit from the City of Syracuse).

About the Founder

Ryan MacCammon has always been the kind of person who believes that good food brings people together.

Long before Get Smashed existed, he was constantly experimenting with recipes, searching for better ingredients, and refusing to settle for "good enough." What started as backyard cookouts with friends quickly became an obsession with creating the perfect smash burger.

That passion eventually turned into Get Smashed, a ghost kitchen launched in June 2024 that has steadily grown through pop-ups, word of mouth, and an unwavering commitment to quality.

Ryan isn't trying to build just another burger restaurant. He's building the kind of place he'd want to visit himself, a place where incredible food, genuine hospitality, and a great atmosphere come together. Every decision, from sourcing premium Wagyu beef to designing the space, reflects that vision.

Today, he's just one step away from opening the restaurant he's dreamed about for years.
