XARIA COLEMAN (Creator/Producer)
Xaria is a comedian, actor, and filmmaker from Austin, Texas. As
a Black, queer woman navigating predominantly white comedy spaces, she
learned how to adapt while carving out space for her own unique voice
and perspective. Her work often blends dry humor with emotional
honesty, exploring themes like mental health, coming of age, race, and identity.
Xaria has performed in countless improv shows, written and acted in sketch comedy, web series, and small theater productions. She has trained and taught comedy at Austin’s ColdTowne Theater, as well as at the Upright Citizens Brigade in NYC. Most notably, she was a writer/performer in the ColdTowne Theater sketch comedy show, Everything You Wanted to Know About White Supremacy (But Were Afraid to Ask!) which was a recipient of a 2024 City of Austin Nexus grant. Her sketch comedy team, Big Fart, was an Austin Chronicle “Best Comedy Troupe” nominee in 2024, and won the Austin Sketch Fest showdown, judged by Key & Peele writer Rich Talarico, that same year. She performs in the weekly all women & nonbinary comedy show, Garage, at Fallout Theater, which has been nominated in the Austin Chronicle for Best Comedy Troupe every year since 2021. In 2016, her all-Black women improv team, Damn, Gina!, won the B. Iden Payne for Best Improv Team. In 2024, she wrote and directed her first short film, which is currently in post-production. She recently graduated from the Austin Film Society’s Creative Careers Program, where she has continued to grow her skills and expand her creative network.
